BLACK
JOY RADIANCE
INSTALLATION | MAINFRAME STUDIOS
The Exhibition BLACK JOY RADIANCE presents multiple mediums expressing diverse points of view to maintain freedom of expression and employ BLACK JOY as an act of resistance against systems of oppression. Of the twenty-one artists of color represented in the Our History First Friday exhibition and who work and create inside Mainframe Studios, six of these artists are collectively exhibited in the atrium gallery, BLACK JOY RADIANCE group exhibit. These artists come to show as painters, fashion designers, literary and multi-disciplinary artists, fine craftswomen, entrepreneurs, advocates, and muralists.
The premise of the BLACK JOY RADIANCE is to shift the impact of negative narratives, support the wellspring of black futures, and build from the Black History Month foundation of celebrating the contributions of African Americans as triumphant.
Black Joy Radiance, curated by Mainframe artists @jillwellsart, @b_well_, @abenasankofa, and @janaepatricephotography, is an installation located in the atrium of Mainframe, celebrating the creatives within our building.
